Bridge Engineer

Description

In this role, you will contribute to a collaborative environment by coaching junior engineers, fostering teamwork across disciplines, and advancing your career within a global leader in sustainable design.

• Lead the preparation of preliminary and detailed designs for bridges, culverts, and related transportation structures.
• Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure safety, durability, and efficiency.
• Develop comprehensive reports, contract documents, and oversee drawing production.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and serve as a construction liaison, performing site inspections.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, promoting a collaborative team culture.
• Assist with business development activities, including preparation of proposals and bid submissions.

Requirements

• Hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Be a licensed Professional Engineer with PEO or another provincial association.
• Bring at least seven years of experience designing new bridges and rehabilitations, covering highway and rail types.
• Demonstrate proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
• Possess knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and relevant provincial/territorial standards.
• Exhibit strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and lead project teams.
