Product Engineer - Manchester, NH

Description

• Conducts sustaining engineering investigations (such as product failures, customer complaints, variation notices, rejects and deviations), summarizes findings and prepares and distributes appropriate solutions.
• Manages project team activities.
• Attends trade shows, supplier visits, seminars and conferences as required to support sales and project needs.
• Researches and interprets industry standards and associated requirements. Creates project scope and design goals to satisfy applicable requirements.
• Coordinates projects
• Participates in laboratory testing, data collection and report generation.
• Develops project plans
• Communicates changes and progress
• Responsible for receiving, reviewing and evaluating project requests and planning general activities for project completion.
• Work with cross functional teams to ensure completion of all tasks associated with project requirements.
• Analyzes customer technical requirements and provide product recommendations. Associated activity will include generating new products through our NPD system or FOCUS process.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
• Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
• Completes projects on time and budget
• Initiates drawing orders, engineering changes, sample and prototype requests, purchase requests, and other necessary paperwork to complete project assignments and/or maintain assigned product line(s).
• Carries out design and development work as planned to transform customer needs into final product. Performs simulation tests and analyses, selects materials and generates product specifications to meet projects goals.
• Interacts with other departmental groups to complete other projects such as DFM, cost reductions, and internal improvements to product.
• Responsible for reporting the status and progress of projects and performing additional duties to complete projects and assignments.
• Maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail, and other PC application skills
• Must be comfortable with operating power equipment.
• Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
• Proficient 3D CAD skills
• Ability to interact and work effectively with other departments.
• Effective project management skills. Able to build a time line and manage activities within the timeline.
