Regulatory Policy Specialist

Description

Xcel Energy seeks a Regulatory Policy Specialist to partner with senior leaders and subject‑matter experts across the organization. The role will shape strategies, develop persuasive regulatory filings, and guide case teams to achieve constructive outcomes for the company’s essential energy services.

• Develop, compile, and edit complex regulatory case filings aligned with corporate strategy.
• Advocate Xcel Energy’s positions in regulatory proceedings, rulemakings, and legislative hearings.
• Coordinate compliance activities across designated jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with senior management and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
• Prepare testimony, discovery responses, and presentations for external agencies and internal audiences.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Support witnesses in preparing pre‑filed testimony and assist case teams as needed.

Requirements

• Craft clear, concise written explanations of intricate regulatory issues.
• Minimum qualifications: BA/BS degree and 5–7 years of regulatory experience, including filing expertise.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to travel overnight and work overtime when required.

Benefits

The anticipated base salary ranges from $112,200 to $159,400 annually, and the position includes an extensive benefits package such as annual incentive programs, medical/vision/dental plans, retirement options, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and various employee well‑being resources.
