Jr. Detailer

Description

• Participate in training to learn company and industry detailing standards
• Assist with preparing and updating shop drawings based on contract documents
• Enter and maintain drawing updates in our project files
• Support coordination between detailing, fabrication, and field teams
• Help check drawings for accuracy and completeness before they are sent for approval or fabrication
• Perform basic measuring and data collection tasks during site visits (with supervision)
• Carry out other entry-level duties as assigned to support the Project Manager and subcontractors

Requirements

• Learn to read and interpret construction drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel
• 2-4 year college degree required
• Strong attention to detail, a positive “can-do” attitude, and an eagerness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic understanding of drafting principles; construction knowledge is a plus, but not required
• Coursework in drafting, engineering, or related field preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SDS/2, or Tekla) is a plus, but not required — training provided)
