Passive Fire Safety Surveyor

Description

The position involves carrying out fire‑door inspections, compartmentation surveys and other assessments on residential and educational premises across London and the Southeast, understanding fire strategies, and liaising with residents and clients on‑site. Surveyors must spot breaches in fire compartmentation, assess existing measures, and prepare clear, concise reports with findings and recommendations.

Requirements

The role requires staying up‑to‑date with current fire safety regulations and industry best practices. It is a field‑based role covering Central and Greater London, with occasional travel to farther clients, periodic visits to the head office in Stafford, and the possibility of overnight stays when travel exceeds 1½ hours. Candidates must hold a full driver’s licence (max 6 penalty points), undergo an enhanced DBS check, and may benefit from FDIS or CSCS card training.

• Understand fire strategies and liaise with residents and clients on‑site.
• Work field‑based across Central and Greater London with occasional travel beyond the region and periodic visits to the head office in Stafford.
• Be prepared for overnight stays when travel exceeds 1½ hours.
• Hold a full driver’s licence (maximum six penalty points) and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
• Possess relevant experience in fire safety, building surveying or a related field; proven experience in fire‑door and compartmentation surveying is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• FDIS training and CSCS Card are advantageous.
