The role performs routine skilled and technical support work in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of transmission and distribution substation electrical equipment, requiring work outdoors in all weather conditions and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid environments, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock hazards, noise, and vibration.
- Supervise and manage a team of field service technicians responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing transformers and other substation equipment.
- Ensure all field service activities are carried out in accordance with safety guidelines and company policies.
- Plan and schedule field service activities, assign tasks to technicians, and coordinate with customers.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor them to enhance technical skills.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and give feedback to ensure high‑quality work and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and track service calls, equipment repairs, and customer interactions; maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of field service activities.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in transformer technology to provide expert advice and recommendations to customers.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Prepare and submit reports on field service activities, including performance metrics, customer satisfaction, and equipment status.

Success in this position demands physical ability to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up to 50 lb, a valid driver’s license with a good record, and readiness for frequent overnight domestic travel, occasional international travel, and flexible hours including overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Required: Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment; strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Required: Proficiency with computers and MS Office; ability to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up to 50 lb; pass a fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Required: Availability for frequent overnight domestic travel, occasional international travel, and flexible hours including overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Preferred: 5+ years hands‑on experience in high‑voltage testing of electrical power equipment and scheduling experience.
- Preferred: Experience with transformer manufacturing processes, testing equipment such as Doble M4100/M7100, Doble 5400, Megger sets, Vanguard/Raytech WRMs, and knowledge of circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, CTs, PTs, and CCVTs.

Compensation for this position is hourly, ranging from $31.00 to $55.00 per hour, with starting pay influenced by geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
