Technicians perform preventative maintenance, system start‑ups, performance testing, and on‑call or overtime assignments as needed, while supporting apprentices and maintaining their service vehicle and tools. All work must adhere to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment such as RTUs, split systems, heat pumps, furnaces, and air handlers.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, system start‑ups, and performance testing.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control issues, including motors, contactors, relays, thermostats, control boards, and VFDs.
- Recover, evacuate, and charge refrigerant in compliance with EPA regulations and locate and repair leaks.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and blueprints for repairs and installations.
- Document work orders, parts used, and recommended repairs; communicate findings to customers and leadership.
- Maintain service vehicle and equipment, ensuring tools and materials are ready for each job.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Support apprentices and helpers, promoting best practices and quality workmanship.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and overtime as required.

The HVAC Journeyman Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and installing commercial and residential HVAC systems. The role requires strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, controls, electrical components, and refrigerant systems, as well as the ability to work independently, communicate professionally with customers, and complete work safely and efficiently.
Candidates must have at least four years of journeyman‑level HVAC experience, EPA Section 608 certification, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills. Preferred credentials include a HVAC journeyman license, NATE certification, experience with commercial refrigeration or building automation systems, and OSHA 10/30 training.
- Minimum four years of journeyman‑level HVAC experience with strong troubleshooting skills.
