• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to plan work procedures
• Dismantle, move, assemble, and align machinery such as shafts, conveyors, pumps, compressors, turbines and blowers
• Bolt, weld, rivet equipment to foundations and perform grouting of base plates
• Operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn parts to dimensional specifications
• Repair, lubricate, and maintain industrial equipment per supervisor direction
• Ensure compliance with company and client safety requirements and policies
• Perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, lifting 30‑50 lb, and handling tools while maintaining balance and coordination

Requirements

Turner Industries Group is seeking an experienced Millwright for its Kingsport, TN location. The non‑exempt role reports to the Foreman and involves installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery according to layouts, blueprints, and written instructions. Work is performed in industrial establishments and is regularly inspected for compliance with company and client safety standards.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and 1‑4 years of relevant experience, with NCCER certification required on some sites. They must pass a pre‑employment drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and agree to Turner’s drug, alcohol, and contraband policy. The millwright will read schematics, dismantle and move equipment, assemble and align shafts, conveyors, pumps, compressors, turbines and blowers, and may operate a lathe for precision work. Additional duties include grouting, lubricating, and performing assignments directed by the supervisor.

• Meet minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent and 1–4 years of millwright experience
• Obtain NCCER certification where required by the job site
• Complete pre‑employment drug/alcohol screening, physical evaluation, and sign the drug, alcohol and contraband policy
