- Assist residents with ADLs, meals, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging independence.

- Serve and assist residents in the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Initiate and participate in leisure activities according to the activity calendar.

- Perform daily housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.
- Ensure a dignified, caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident requests, phone calls, and visitor/family inquiries.
- Verify resident sign‑outs when leaving the community.
- Keep the environment free of hazards that could cause falls or injury.
- Report safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
- Assist associates when requested or required.
- Follow established emergency policies and remain on‑site as essential personnel during emergencies.
- Collaborate with team members and management to complete work assignments.
- Adhere to attendance, call‑off, dress code, and HIPAA policies.
- Participate in trainings, in‑service, and mandatory meetings.
- Assist and mentor new employees; contribute to training.
- Take initiative, seek information, suggest solutions, and handle special projects.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and have one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Medicine Technician (Med‑Tech) certification is required, along with basic reading, writing, math, reasoning, and computer skills, particularly proficiency with word processing and electronic medical records. Strong communication abilities are essential for interacting with residents, families, and staff.
The position involves frequent standing, walking, reaching, and verbal communication, with occasional stooping, kneeling, and lifting of up to 50 lb. Employees must maintain a safe, clean environment and may be exposed to blood‑borne pathogens, necessitating adherence to safety and HIPAA guidelines.

Benefits
This full-time role is based at Carriage Hill in Bedford, VA (ZIP 24523) with an hourly wage of $19.00. It is dedicated to improving the SRIM experience for residents and their families in the Heartful Care program. The employee will provide direct support to residents while upholding the organization’s standards of care.
