Description

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building, and installing, maintaining and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. The role also offers the chance to mentor junior technicians and develop advanced technical skills.

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on material handling equipment (belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, etc.).
• Maintain positive working relationships across all operations facilities.
• Track and store department inventory.

Requirements

• Lift/move up to 49 lb, stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours, with possible travel up to 20 %.
• Required: high school diploma or equivalent; flexible schedule including weekends, nights, holidays; 2+ years repairing material handling equipment; 2+ years predictive and preventative maintenance experience.
• Preferred: associate degree or higher in mechanical/electrical field; 2+ years with automated conveyor systems and controls; 1+ year reading blueprints/electrical schematics; knowledge of electrical/electronic principles; familiarity with MHE safety standards and OEM guidelines; experience with CMMS; experience with robotic/electromechanical operation and maintenance; basic I/O troubleshooting.
• Physical demands: repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, standing and walking; lift parts/tools average 20 lb, occasionally up to 49 lb; dexterity for eye‑hand coordination and foot pedal use; work in small spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration; stand on concrete >10 hours; push/pull equipment up to 100 lb; maneuver awkward parts; work at heights and in cramped positions.
