The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Maintenance Department, including the upkeep of manufacturing assets, parts inventory, budget management, and the design and installation of new plant equipment. This role also involves supervising multiple shifts of Maintenance Supervisors and mechanics, gathering bids for outsourced work, and prioritizing repair and improvement projects with approval from the Operations Manager.
Supervisory duties include directing, coordinating, and evaluating the maintenance team across all shifts, planning and assigning work, conducting performance appraisals, rewarding or disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and problems in line with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, or five to seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of BFS safety training is required, and the role demands 100% travel.
Key competencies include strong language skills for reading technical documents and communicating with groups, mathematical abilities for calculations and basic algebra, planning and organizing skills to prioritize work and allocate resources, reasoning ability to solve practical problems, and basic computer skills for web research and email communication.
