Coordinates the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program.
Monitors that contractor construction engineering activities are in compliance with procedures and the contract.
Coordinates the reviews of contractor submittals, including daily reports of contractor progress and performance.
Implements assurance program to monitor that the work by contractors is undertaken in a manner that addresses and eliminates people and environmental hazards, and that risk analysis, health risk assessments, and work method statements, where required, are in place.
Coordinates the review of contractor quantity take-offs, reporting and forecasting.
Establishes a design/field engineering working relationship and lines of communication with project engineering including agreement on engineering deliverables.
Manage the review of all contractor submittals including construction schedules, management plans, progress reports, and changes as required.
Supports the engineering team with review of contractor's design for constructability and compliance with the contract.
Oversee the preparation of the request for tender documentation, project construction schedule, and interface strategy and actively participate in the procurement phase including evaluations and recommendations for award.
Actively interface with engineering, construction interface, health and safety, environment and sustainability, community, workplace relations, contract management and other relevant teams to so that project delivery priorities are maintained.
Coordinates technical input and oversight for the reviews of contractor construction non-conformances.
Identifies areas of risk and opportunity in contractor performance.
Proactively engages with teams’ development through competency development/assessment and feedback Reviews construction manager and field engineering staffing requirements for effective service delivery.

Sound working knowledge of contract management.
Skill in working and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers and team members.
Prior delivery partner or client-side project management experience is preferred but not essential.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of related construction systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials for major infrastructure or aviation projects.
Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials and applications of building information modelling, 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) to engineering problems.
Field engineering experience on large construction projects (experience in the management of construction, field engineering or design engineering for major infrastructure or aviation projects is an advantage).
Prior airport experience is preferred but not essential.
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
