- Store, remove, load and unload all types of materials from storage bins, pallets and vehicles not handled by material handling devices.
- Operate manual or mechanical devices and stock inventory shelves.
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisitions to determine items to move, gather or distribute.
- Assort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, or color.
- Move materials and supplies from warehouse and prepare for delivery.
- Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or stock items.
- Record material items received or distributed.
- Maintain inventory records as needed.
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the work area.
- Follow all hazardous waste handling guidelines.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment; perform other duties as required.
- Plan work and select proper tools.
- Compare and discern differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Make decisions based on measurable criteria.

Must be familiar with tools and consumables, and have the ability to hand out and receive both tools and welding wire. The candidate is knowledgeable in repairing tools and can order consumables and tools while maintaining a log of distribution.
May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with prior experience in the field or a related area. Possesses knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures, and relies on instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform job functions. Works under immediate supervision, with primary duties that do not typically require independent judgment, and reports to a supervisor or manager.
