- Edit specification sections.
- Review drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards.
- Prepare engineering opinion of probable cost and review contractor cost estimates.
- Prepare preliminary task/needs list.
- In role of project leader, coordinate staff activities to assure achieving goals of project budget, schedule and quality.
- Produce final punch list.
- Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials.
- Prepare addendums and change orders. Initiate additional service requests and turn over to Project Manager for submittal to client.
- Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with project team to produce construction documents.
- Maintain neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.
- Coordinate project requirements with other design professionals and other design disciplines.
- Edit word-processing documents and understand procedures for file saving, retrieving and transferring.
- Use computer programs and spread sheets for engineering analysis and presentations.
- Routine use of standard office equipment.
- Attend construction meetings and produce site observation reports.
- Keep current, on the "State of the Art" in their design specialty through training, review of periodicals, and continuing education.
- Document existing conditions and perform some troubleshooting.
- Provide schematic design information including conceptual land development plans and project requirements.

- Potential to be around construction equipment when visiting job sites, be able to handle loud noises.
- General knowledge of civil engineering design.
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
- Generally, has 10 or more years of progressive drafting and design experience as a designer, drafter, and engineering technician.
- Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
- Experience and proficiency in detail design work.
