

Create scripts to automate system administration tasks.
Implement vulnerability remediation and security management, including system hardening, log management, and configuration management tools (e.g., Nessus, Trellix, Splunk, SCAP, HBSS).
Implement and manage end-user authentication in mixed environments (NIS & SSSD preferred).
Manage servers in disconnected environments.
Create and manage security groups and user permissions.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) documentation.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Manage and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for Linux systems.
The Linux Systems Administrator will manage and maintain secure Linux/Unix environments, ensuring compliance with security standards and operational requirements. This role involves system installation, patching, troubleshooting, automation, and documentation. The position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to security protocols in a classified environment.
Install operating system security patches and firmware updates.
Coordinate hardware repair activities.
Perform routine server and workstation patching per established guidelines.
Administer virtual machines using VMWare ESXi.
Install and configure server hardware and software applications.
Troubleshoot NAS/SAN storage issues and manage storage configurations.
Experience managing Linux systems with NAS/SAN storage.
1st Shift
Knowledge of NISPOM, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and STIG requirements.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Experience with Linux or Unix operating systems.
U.S. citizenship (required).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment).
Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph (required).
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications preferred.
Strong scripting skills for automation (shell, Ansible preferred).
Work Experience
Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 6–9.
Familiarity with Solaris, AIX, POWER, or SPARC systems.
TS/SCI w/CI Polygraph required
Knowledge of authentication management in mixed environments.
Previous experience in Linux/Unix system administration and security compliance.
Experience with vulnerability remediation and security compliance.
