The Boiler Technician role focuses on repairing and installing a wide range of equipment, including piping, valves, gauges, pumps, motors, steam traps, strainers, control transformers, electrodes, relays, solenoids, switches, thermostats, aquastats, and both circulating and fuel pumps. The position requires diagnosing malfunctions, performing visual, audible, and mechanical checks, and ensuring all boiler system components operate safely and efficiently.
Technicians must respond to emergency call‑outs, process material requests accurately and promptly, maintain personal tools and equipment, and consistently use personal protective equipment. Collaboration with fellow workers and strict adherence to safety regulations are essential for timely, cost‑effective performance of duties.
Candidates need at least three years of boiler operational experience, a valid driver’s license, a high‑school diploma or equivalent, and must provide their own hand tools. Proficiency in English and the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals are required. The job involves indoor and outdoor work in extreme temperatures, confined or high spaces, and exposure to various hazards, while demanding physical abilities such as climbing ladders and lifting up to 70 lb.
