Work in conjunction with engineers and geologists to solve project challenges, performing design calculations as required.
Evaluate field and laboratory test data and develop parameters for use in technical analyses.
Assist with feasibility studies by conducting research to assess issues and develop solutions.
Conduct analysis using programs such as GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, …), ROCSCIENCE (RSData, Dips, UnWedge, SWedge, Slide2&3, RS2&3…), OpenGround, AllPile, LPILE, PLAXIS 2D&3D, FLAC2D&3D, Abaqus, UDEC, and 3DEC under the supervision of more senior engineers/geologists.
Participate in professional development and training activities"
Assess subsurface conditions, including soil and rock properties and geomechanical conditions, including review and interpretation of field maps, field logs, test data, and other field documentation.
Develop familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, technical design standards, and industry standards and guidelines.
Provide field engineering support for projects during construction.
Conduct field inspections; observe and participate in field exploration and testing programs; and perform site characterizations and evaluate geotechnical hazards under the supervision of more senior engineers/geologists.
Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
Prepare technical reports including geotechnical data reports, geotechnical baseline reports, field reports, technical memoranda, computation packages, feasibility reports, design and evaluation reports, construction drawings, and specifications.
Select criteria for planning, design, and construction of dams, tunnels, caverns, foundations, slopes, and earth-retaining structures.

Willing and able to travel, both nationally and internationally, to conduct field investigation or construction quality oversight type work.
Sound organizational, technical, written, and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize work.
Prior engineering internship experience working in a consulting capacity is a plus.
EIT strongly desired, with a commitment to obtain registration as a Professional Engineer.
Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geological Engineering is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geological Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Ability to work as part of a team and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Working knowledge of the principles of civil/geotechnical or geological engineering, e.g., soil/rock mechanics, slope stability, shallow and deep foundations, and retaining structures.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint software.
Some exposure to or knowledge of numerical modeling and finite element analysis, and computer aided design drafting.
