You’ll support data‑center startups, perform on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems, and partner with automation engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate systems on‑site.
Clear communication with customers and project teams keeps progress smooth; travel rotations follow schedules such as 5 on‑2 off, 10 on‑4 off, or 14 on‑7 off, and you’ll work with a variety of large‑company customers backed by the ProAutomated team.
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk, we’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline now for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that actually knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this role may be a perfect fit.
Our four‑week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for field work. Success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, so candidates without this background may not be ready.
We are looking for candidates who love travel, have a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, demonstrate adaptability, grit, strong communication and problem‑solving skills, and can live within 50 miles of a major airport with a personal vehicle available within 45 days.
A technical degree or equivalent 3+ years of hands‑on experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is required, along with U.S. work authorization; physical duties include walking long distances, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in varied environments.
The position offers work‑plus‑travel across North America with no office reporting, allowing you to experience new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while working directly with customers.
Compensation starts at $60,000–$75,000 depending on location, education, and experience, plus per‑diem, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses, and regular merit raises—including a 5 % salary increase after six months.
Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months.
Our people‑first culture emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, humor, and mentorship; all leaders have risen through the ranks, so you’ll receive guidance from those who do the work you’ll be doing.
