Description
Produce engineering deliverables including design criteria and specifications, FEEDLevel cable routing plans, cabinet layouts, equipment room layouts and load list.
Identifies gaps and builds an environment which has readily accessible knowledge and continuous learning.
Resolve engineering issues with stakeholders across client, vendor, EPC and construction contractors.
Develop basis of design, project philosophies and technology roadmaps.
Review vendor proposals and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
Provide technical guidance to project managers, designers, drafters and junior engineers.
Interface with various project teams internal and external (Automation, Electrical, IT, Operations, etc.) to ensure alignment of Telecom infrastructure requirements.
Lead or participate in FATs, SATs, and inspections when required.
Support talent development and contribute to building discipline capability within the organization.
Leverages and helps develop the diverse background and skills of people for the attainment of company goals.
Review contractor installation procedures and test plans (OTDR testing, insertion loss, ethernet cabling certification, etc.)
Support commissioning team with system turn+up, testing and validation documentation.
Provide technical assistance during construction and respond to RFIs
Identify opportunities for technology optimization, standardization and cost improvements.
Contribute to client presentations and demonstrations.
Identify and coordinate connectivity requirements with Automation, Electrical, IT and other networks.
Develop FEED Reports.
Review vendor documents and coordinate the development of vendor packages.
Develop bill of materials, material takeoffs and technical input to TIC Cost Estimates.
Estimate cabling and supporting infrastructure quantities, space and power requirements and development of associated reports.
Perform technical bid evaluations.
Lead the development of IFC drawing packages including cable routing layouts, splicing and termination diagrams, wiring diagrams, cabinet details, floor plans, installation details, EWPs, CWPs, Vendor scope of work and material requisitions, etc.
Support proposals and bids by preparing technical writeups, execution strategies, engineering estimates and risk assessments.
Participate in communities of practice and knowledgesharing initiatives.
Ensure constructability, maintainability and operability in all deliverables.
Plans and executes projects through teamwork with other departments and with outside organizations.
Define highlevel architecture/topologies, block diagrams and physical infrastructure requirements.
Prepare and evaluate technical specifications, datasheets and material requisitions for structured cabling materials including fiber optic and copper cables, equipment racks/cabinets, patch panels, splicing enclosures among others.
