Tasks

-Assists employees in identifying, analyzing, and resolving existing or anticipated obstacles -Demonstrates and enforces proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials -Cultivates a working relationship with managers, supervisors, fellow employees, and customers/clients encouraging a cooperative environment -May interact with owners, owner representatives, architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, and others associated with project activities -Resolves conflicts related to construction of the project as well as personnel difficulties -Obtains supervisor’s approval prior to crew installation of requested change orders -Works with supervisor in personnel alignment and scheduling tasks to facilitate weekly action plans to meet project deadlines while meeting Company quality standards -Completes routine daily inspections of equipment and work areas to verify accurate and timely installations -Ensures crew maintains and properly stores tools, materials, and equipment to maintain clean and a neat work area -Leads, motivates, coaches, and develops assigned employees by giving frequent honest feedback -Assigns field employees to project tasks based upon individual’s ability and experience -Collaborates with field personnel and support staff -Utilizes and maintains accurate project documentation (i.e. time sheets, progress reports, daily logs, etc.) -Effectively oversees, directs, and develops an assigned team of 1-6 Helpers, Apprentices, and/or Journeypersons in proper work practices -Conducts meetings and huddles with assigned crew to meet project objectives and schedules -Completes and documents regular safety inspections -Monitors and orders materials, tools, and equipment -Communicates importance of proper interpretation and enforcement of Gaylor policies and guidelines -Reports accidents or incidents to the Supervisor in a timely manner, per Company policy -Ensures crew reports to assigned job site location on time, as directed

What You Bring

-Understands and complies with Company and job safety requirements (O.S.H.A.) and enforces crew to do the same -Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead for extended periods of time -High School graduate or equivalency, preferred -Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits -Possesses knowledge of blueprints, shop drawings, and ability to visualize completed work prior to installation -Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime, as required, on short notice -Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, safety harness, etc.) when required -Ability to climb and use ladders and scaffolding of all types for extended periods of time -May require working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) depending on job location and/or time of year -Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected) -Ability to work while constantly moving -Must work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasks -Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring -Must be able to work in noisy environments -Must be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situations -Journeyman License requirement in states, locales, or projects, as required -Ability to use both hands simultaneously for tying knots and for proper use of power equipment -Must have required hand tools at all times while at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.) -Understands and enforces compliance with NEC, state, and local codes -Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for use -Clearly understands the scope of work, including the responsibilities of other trades at site -Possesses technical knowledge, safety knowledge, and ability to work with live/energized parts -Accredited Apprenticeship Program completion or six years on the job electrical experience required -Demonstrates acceptable Company work practices that can be emulated by fellow employees -Understands and can perform or demonstrate all Journeyperson skills -Ability to lift loads of up to 51 lbs. -Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets) -Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers -Ability to reach and stretch to position equipment, fixtures, etc. while maintaining balance
