- Liaison for IT issues with Library computers/ account access
- Management of detainee requests from the tablets
- Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance
- Scheduling of Legal phone calls between detainee and attorney
- Coordinate and/or oversee
- Facilitation of art and music classes on a weekly basis
- Respond to requests or inquiries from the general public
- Order Supplies for the following areas/ departments.
- Coordinate recreational activities to include:
- Replenish / update DVD movie catalog
- Updating of USCIS, EOIR, etc. forms
- Supply Quarantine units with Law Library services/ materials
- Organization and maintenance of leisure reading materials
- Prepare and post monthly recreational schedules

- Familiar with corrections operations, federal and state requirements and the treatment of detainees
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competency of Microsoft Office Suite
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to work with a diverse population, speaking numerous languages with and from different cultures and from various countries around the world
- First Aid, CPR and AED certified
- US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years
- At least 21 years of age
- Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements
- Possess a valid state driver's license
- Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record)
- Knowledge of day-to-day operation of a detention services center
- BS degree in Sports Science, Kinesiology, Recreation Management, or related field. The BS may be substituted with equivalent education and experience
- Experienced with coordinating, managing and scheduling recreational activities
- Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests
- Minimum three years’ experience as a Recreation Specialist or related position
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is desired
- Recreational equipment (basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, cards, board games, etc.)
- Weekend Movie Program
- Detainee welfare supplies, to include televisions, remote controls, pens, pencils, batteries, educational materials, etc.
