Senior Waste Management Consultant

Description

We are seeking an individual who can lead the delivery of waste management projects throughout the Middle East, including waste management strategies, waste audit studies, and waste permitting programme. The individual will act as the primary contact for the waste management business unit and drive forward business development in the sector through existing networks and new relationships, including with regards to writing proposals and participating in conferences and events, as well as Project management of a variety of projects varying complexity and scale.

• Manage projects of varying complexity and scale, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Promotion of the importance of health and well-being of the team, including team building fitness activities, social events and the provision of a healthy work environment
• Oversee both the technical and commercial aspects of projects.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of waste management initiatives.
• Act as a primary contact for clients, supporting business development through existing networks and new relationships, including proposal writing, client presentations, and participation in conferences/events.
• Ensure consistently high levels of client satisfaction.
• Independently manage complex projects and resolve technical and project-related challenges.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, providing both technical support and professional development.
• Support commercial success through client-oriented service and contribution to revenue growth.
• Develop and implement waste management strategies tailored to client-specific requirements.
• Advise clients on sustainable waste reduction, recycling, and disposal solutions that are both environmentally sound and cost-effective.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the Waste Division.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Provide quality assurance of project work undertaken by other team members.
• Assist in the day-to-day management of AESG’s Environment Division, including project delivery, resourcing, and proposal development.
• Lead the delivery of waste management projects including waste management strategies, audits, waste transfer/MRF design, and waste permitting programmes.
• Actively participate in business development initiatives, including proposal writing, tender submissions, client meetings, and industry events.

Requirements

AESG are seeking a passionate and driven Senior Waste Consultant for an exciting new opportunity to work within AESGs award winning Environment department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental consultancy services with a willingness to work across multiple environmental disciplines and contribute to the continued growth of the environmental division.

• Bachelor’s degree in Waste Management, Environmental Engineering/Science or related field,
• Good relationship builders (internal and external)
• Proven knowledge of recycling activities, waste treatment, and disposal technologies.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical delivery with business objectives.
• Strong technical expertise in solid waste management strategies and solutions at the local, national, and regional level.
• Familiarity with international waste management policy, circular economy principles, and zero waste to landfill strategies.
• Minimum 7 years of experience delivering waste management consultancy projects.
