Ability to procure and managing safety supplies.
5 years’ experience in construction Health and Safety.
Have good working knowledge of Occupational Health (OHSA) and Safety legislation and Workers’ Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) policies.
Detailed understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities is vital.
Experienced in investigating workplace incidents.
Experience as a Liaison with external parties such as government inspectors, sub-contractors, and general public.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience in preparing for COR or ISO 45001 audits
Experience in the preparation and review of policies and procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Ability to travel to sites and mobile for projects.
Experience co-chairing a Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle within complex infrastructure project would be desirable
Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
High degree of organizational skills.
Ability to demonstrate initiative, judgment, and act proactively.
Valid G drivers’ license.
Experience presenting project Orientations and Site-Specific Orientations for small and large groups.
Health and safety certification such as National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Gold Seal Certificate (GSC), graduate or undergraduate degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent.
