- Implement supply management best practices
- Manage RFx initiatives, proposal evaluations, negotiation strategies, contract negotiations, execution, and maintenance
- Lead, manage, and implement sourcing activities using the strategic sourcing process methodology; and steward multi-year category sourcing strategies utilizing best practices
- Assist with mentoring / learning / coaching with junior and intermediate members of the team
- Identify external and internal stakeholders and their requirements and engage appropriately in activities
- Manage contracts and supplier relationships, including the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and increased value
- Facilitate internal Total Cost of Ownership reduction initiatives and identify savings opportunities

- Experience in supply chain management, contract authorship and contract management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present information to support decision-making
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Minimum ten years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus in construction and industrial maintenance
- Strong contract drafting skills and knowledge of contract law
- Understand and align markets, strategies, priorities, and plans
- Financial acumen is also considered an asset
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and persuasion skills
- Strong ability to work as part of a team, network, and build relationships
- Ability to judge complex situations, identify critical aspects of issues, creatively use data sources, structure complex analyses, think through solutions, develop recommendations and sell to stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and cost modeling skills
- Post-secondary education in business, law, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Understand legal concepts as they pertain to proposals, contracting, and executing on existing contracts
- Ability to evaluate and mitigate commercial risks
- Professional demeanor and presentation
- Ability to identify opportunities for innovation within the supply chain, develop strategic visions and create plans for implementation
- Experience working with unionized contractors would be considered an asset
- Experience in using Excel and PowerPoint to generate actionable insights, dashboards, and executive-level reports
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt well to change
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or other similar designation would be considered an asset
