Highways Engineer

Description

• Assist in the preparation of detailed design drawings, specifications, contract documents, methods of measurement including bills of quantities and activity schedules
• Development of design options to detailed stage, production of drawings where required
• Assist with the development of feasibility options and costings for highway and other engineering schemes
• Assist in the supervision of works on site, checking compliance with specifications, maintenance of site records and preparation of as built records
• Assist in the measurement of completed works and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
• Assist with the development of highway design briefs from initial to detailed stages
• Defect inspection and closedown of construction projects, coordination of and contribution to the project Health and Safety file, preparation of contractor performance reports
• Project management of minor Highway and other Engineering Schemes including adherence to quality management systems, risk management and procurement

Requirements

LOCATION : Commutable from Beverley , Hull , Leeds , Sheffield , Doncaster, York, Lincoln , Grimsby

As a Highway Design Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the delivery of Highway schemes, the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of highway design, maintenance and safety standards and their application to the differing types of highway environment.

• The use of AutoCAD , Autosign ( or similar) and if possible 3D design modelling packages

Benefits

This role is available on either a permanent basis or long term freelance contract.

SALARY AND BENEFITS : £38k to £48k DOE. Freelance also available on a PAYE or Ltd Co basis

Mon - Fri - 37 hours pw. Hybrid working available.
