Accounts Payable Specialist

As an AP & AR Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our financial operations—keeping vendor accounts current, strengthening relationships, and ensuring accuracy across payables and receivables. This role is fast-paced, collaborative, and offers opportunities to improve processes while working with data at scale.

• Process approved invoices for multiple locations through a proprietary, web-based platform
• Provide continuous process improvement in the accounts payable process
• Monitor aged payables to ensure vendor accounts are kept current
• Verify vendor account balances by reconciling vendor statements to company AP ledger
• Research and resolve invoice issues and discrepancies
• Support AP-related internal controls appropriate in a public company
• Support the tax department in making payments
• Provide guidance on vendor setup activities
• Maintain vendor data throughout the year to support preparing 1099s annually
• Prepare weekly check runs
• Provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries from vendors and internal customers
• Provide clear guidance regarding AP policies and procedures to all departments

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Accounting degree preferred
• Ability to work with other departments
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with speaking to vendors and utility providers
• Familiar with reviewing vendors documents to ensure records are accurate
• Familiar with large sets of data and ability to analyze the data
• Familiar with AP best practices
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Fast and accurate data entry skills
• Familiar with processing invoices related to numerous, remote locations
• Minimum 2 years accounts payable or general accounting experience; Large- or medium-size company experience preferred
