The Adjunct Instructor role supports the Knobelsdorff State Accredited Apprenticeship program under the Apprenticeship Program Manager. The part‑time position teaches night classes (5 pm‑8 pm CST) three hours per week, delivering coursework aligned with the Mike Holts Electrical Curriculum to develop apprentice skills and knowledge.
- Deliver instruction following the Mike Holts Electrical curriculum.
- Prepare and present lessons, assignments, and assessments aligned with program standards.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Create a positive, engaging learning environment that encourages participation.
- Ensure compliance with state accreditation standards and program requirements.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and educational methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Apprenticeship Program Manager to improve program content and delivery.
- Provide academic advising and support to apprentices as needed.

The role requires the ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods and to lift instructional materials up to 20 lb. Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment and the apprenticeship classes are delivered 100 % online via Microsoft Teams. Although the instructor is employed by South Central College, direction comes from the Knobelsdorff Apprenticeship Program Manager.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work independently and collaboratively, adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and apprenticeship program structures.
- Knowledge of the Mike Holts Electrical curriculum (bonus).
