The Role

Overview

Assist in roadway design and related engineering tasks for municipal transportation projects.

Tasks

-Assist with geometric design and 3D modeling, including intersection and interchange design. -Assist with quantity development, cost estimation, specification review, and QA/QC. -Contribute to roadside safety evaluation and design. -Develop construction sequencing, traffic control plans, and erosion control plans. -Support evaluation and design of multi-modal facilities and corridors (automobile, pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight) from planning through final design. -Perform basic hydrology and hydraulic design, including cross-road structures and enclosed storm sewers. -Participate in field visits and utility coordination.

What You Bring

-Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. -0–2 years of experience. -Experience with the following software is a plus: Synchro / SimTraffic, VISSIM, RSAP, HSM, AutoTurn, HY-8, HEC-RAS, Revu or Adobe. -Effective written and verbal communication skills. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). -Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
