The Electrical VDC Coordinator is responsible for meeting modeling and coordination objectives according to client expectations—focusing on electrical systems within MEP projects. A key challenge of this role is stakeholder management, as it requires effective communication with internal teams, external vendors, and clients. The coordinator acts as the central point of contact for all coordination efforts related to the electrical scope.
An Electrical VDC Coordinator at ENG plays a critical role in leading the coordination of electrical scopes in BIM projects. This involves managing workflows for teams of modelers and specialists, maintaining alignment with project schedules, and ensuring technical excellence across all deliverables.
The Electrical VDC Coordinator has decision-making responsibility within the electrical scope of the project. This includes defining workflows, supporting team composition, addressing coordination issues, and collaborating closely with PMs, other discipline leads, and clients to ensure alignment across all project phases.
- Client Interface: Act as a technical point of contact for the electrical scope in coordination meetings and review sessions.
- Technical Support: Provide mentorship and training to team members while contributing directly to model production when needed.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain regular communication with internal teams, clients, and other trades.
- Team Coordination: Guide and support modelers and BIM specialists working on the electrical scope.
- Project Execution: Ensure timely delivery of models and drawings that meet client expectations, technical accuracy, and constructability standards.
