Responsibilities include handling materials, verifying part quality, operating and troubleshooting laser equipment, performing routine maintenance, and interpreting technical documents to set cutting parameters.
- Work schedule: 6 pm – 6 am, alternating weeks of 3 and 4 days, providing a 3‑day weekend every other week
- Use hard gauges and calipers to verify part quality
- Interpret prints and work instructions to set cutting specifications
- Troubleshoot machine parameters to maintain premium part quality
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and set up multiple jobs per day

Successful candidates will have laser experience, strong communication and attendance, a safety‑first mindset, a positive attitude, good hand‑eye coordination, attention to detail, and a collaborative team spirit.
Required qualifications involve the ability to follow work orders independently, adherence to MEC safety policies, and preferably knowledge of tubular steel manufacturing processes.
- Minimum one year of laser experience preferred, especially with tube lasers
- Strong communication skills and dependable attendance
- Positive, can‑do attitude with eagerness to learn
- Good hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to operate forklift and crane for material loading
- Work independently with little direction, following standard procedures
- Knowledge of tubular steel manufacturing and fabrication is a plus
Benefits
The position offers a competitive hourly wage, an additional shift premium for 2nd‑shift work, a sign‑on bonus, and vacation and benefits that begin shortly after hire.
- Base pay of at least $21 per hour plus a $1.50 per hour 2nd‑shift premium
