Associate Director - Buildings Structures Design (ME Region)

Description

The Associate Director – Structures will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise for structural engineering projects across the Middle East region. This role involves overseeing engineering production activities, ensuring technical excellence, and managing relationships with senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in delivering complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.

• Train and grow the juniors with technical training programs
• Make decisions and recommendations recognized by authorities and clients.
• Anticipate and solve routine and unusual operational problems; determine objectives and requirements for diverse engineering activities.
• Organize programs and projects, develop standards and guides, and ensure high-quality technical excellence.
• Support, oversee, and coordinate engineering production activities for the operating unit.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with advanced structural analysis tools and BIM workflows.
• Ability to see the “big picture” and provide strategic oversight.
• Initiate and maintain contact with senior-level management within the company; skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues.
• Demonstrated accountability, precision, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Confident decision-maker with excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in structural engineering, including leadership roles.
• Proven experience delivering major projects in the Middle East region.
• Demonstrate understanding of project delivery requirements and lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent global certification (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers, UK).
• Skilled in managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
