Material Handler - 1st Shift

Description

The Material Handler position is a daytime shift (6:00 am‑2:00 pm, Monday‑Friday) with a pay rate of $20.60 per hour. The incumbent supports production by managing the flow of materials throughout the facility. The role requires adherence to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and productivity standards while working closely with the production team.

Core duties include working under general supervision, participating in performance metric reviews, completing all required training, and maintaining consistent attendance. The handler follows visual‑control (5S) processes and coordinates with the Materials Supervisor and Leads.

• Pick warehouse parts and deliver them to assembly areas.
• Collaborate with production lines to maximize utilization of people, materials, and equipment.
• Meet company standards for safety, quality, continuous improvement, and productivity.
• Follow company policies with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment.
• Use the ERP system to enter, maintain, and transact material data.
• Participate in metric boards measuring safety, quality, CI, and productivity.
• Complete required training and maintain good attendance.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections per procedure.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting 25‑50 lb, and occasional stooping, bending, or reaching.

Requirements

The position is offered at three experience levels, each building on the previous with additional responsibilities such as advanced communication, problem‑solving, and team leadership.

The role involves regular standing, walking, talking and hearing, as well as occasional stooping, bending, reaching above the shoulders, and lifting 25‑50 lb. The job requires frequent computer‑based work, close‑vision tasks, and occasional travel. • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Material Handler I: 0‑2 years experience, high school diploma, basic PC skills.
• Material Handler II: 1‑3 years experience, intermediate PC skills, forklift operation, ERP data entry.
• Material Handler III: 2‑5 years experience, strong communication, problem‑solving tools, coaching/training experience.
• Preferred: forklift operation ability and ERP proficiency.
