The Project Engineer provides technical engineering information to the Project Manager, craft supervisors, and corporate functional managers to ensure that design development and construction work comply with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions across one or more disciplines. This role also supports project controls—cost, scheduling, estimating—and oversees subcontract performance. The position requires extensive travel across the United States, with assignments lasting an average of 6‑8 months and up to 100 % time on‑site, and includes per‑diem, vehicle allowance, and occasional home‑rotation weekends.
The Engineer interprets civil‑scope drawings and specifications, prepares field design change requisitions, and develops work packages for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process plant systems. They coordinate material and labor resources, support subcontractors, and facilitate technical approvals to keep projects on schedule and within contract terms. Additional duties include performing QA/QC tasks, generating as‑built drawings, punch lists, and reports, and providing cost, schedule, and estimating support to the Project Controls Manager.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline and possess at least two years of construction experience, with a preference for data‑center project exposure. Required knowledge includes large‑scale construction design, applicable codes, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and strong oral and written communication skills. The role demands the ability to work independently and collaboratively across all phases of an EPC project with minimal supervision.
The position offers a salary range of $65,000‑$85,000 plus performance‑based increases, 401(k) match, an employee stock purchase plan, and flexible spending accounts. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage is provided for employees and eligible dependents, along with wellness programs, paid time off, disability and life insurance, and various ancillary benefits such as pet insurance and emergency travel assistance.
