Critical Facilities Technician

Description

This position supports facilities classified as critical environments, where system failures could significantly impact business operations. The role focuses on ensuring reliable performance and longevity of building systems while minimizing downtime.

Daily work follows established critical‑environment protocols and includes preventive maintenance, responsive repairs, and thorough facility inspections to uphold safety and operational standards.

• Operate, inspect, and repair HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems in assigned facilities.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks and respond to work orders using critical‑environment MOP processes.
• Conduct detailed facility inspections and report conditions affecting client occupancy and operations.
• Perform hazard assessments, maintain housekeeping, and address safety hazards to eliminate risks.
• Update work order status in real time via CMMS (e.g., Corrigo) and promptly escalate issues to customers and managers.
• Lift up to 80 lb, climb ladders up to 30 ft, work at heights, and endure extreme cold or heat; remain on call for emergency work.

Requirements

The job demands physical stamina, including lifting heavy loads, working at heights, and operating in extreme temperature conditions, and includes on‑call availability for emergency situations.

• Possess at least 3 years of building‑engineering experience with packaged HVAC, plumbing, electrical repair; data‑center experience preferred.
• Hold Universal EPA 608 certification (or obtain within 90 days) and have trades school or apprenticeship training in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing.
• Demonstrate strong customer service, interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
