The position demands at least ten years of experience designing medium‑voltage and low‑voltage power systems, lighting, and low‑voltage systems, though strong candidates with fewer years may be considered. Applicants should be familiar with national electrical engineering firms and contractors, capable of preparing bid packages and negotiating scopes of service. Analytical skills are essential for performing load, lighting foot‑candle, short‑circuit, coordination, and arc‑flash studies.
Design work will span diverse facilities such as hospitals, stadiums, high‑rise buildings, large commercial complexes, and industrial plants. Candidates must understand engineering workflows and BIM coordination, with knowledge of Navisworks and Revit considered a plus. Familiarity with power distribution equipment, including switchgear, substations, switchboards, transformers, and equipment NETA testing, is required.
An accredited electrical engineering degree from a U.S. institution is required, and experience with automotive plants or EV battery production facilities is highly advantageous. The role also calls for expertise in project estimating, construction support, major equipment procurement, and commissioning procedures. Leadership abilities, including managing teams of engineers and estimators, training junior staff, and communicating effectively with owners, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers, are critical.
