The assembler’s primary role is to facilitate the assembly and fabrication of final products, and may also perform duties assigned by a Team Lead, Supervisor or Senior Production Manager across multiple departments as needed.
The position involves fabricating and assembling component parts according to schematics, using hand and power tools, handling inventory tasks, loading and unloading products, maintaining equipment, and supporting tradespeople and supervisors to keep projects on schedule and safe. Employees are expected to keep the work area organized, report unsafe conditions, and may operate forklifts or overhead cranes if certified.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities include safe equipment operation, effective communication, time management, defect detection, understanding of materials, methods and tools, and the ability to work independently while following a schedule. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting over 40 lb, and reading tape measures and basic fractional math; blueprint reading is an asset.
The work environment is a commercial/industrial setting with natural hazards, requiring manual dexterity, protective equipment, and occasional overtime. All duties must comply with Silent‑Aire’s safety program and Alberta OHS regulations.
