The Design Engineer will design for multiple projects, collaborating with internal and external design disciplines to develop engineering solutions for PEC’s clients. This role prepares design deliverables across a variety of projects while upholding PEC’s standard of excellence, utilizing BIM/CAD software, hand calculations, and computer‑based analyses.
- Perform engineering design, coordinate construction documents, and ensure compliance with building codes.
- Review submittals, conduct site investigations, and respond to RFIs during construction administration.
- Execute design calculations and takeoffs manually and using software tools.
- Manage multiple projects, organize information, and meet schedule and PEC standards.
- Collaborate effectively with the design team to complete tasks across numerous projects.

- Work independently and collaboratively with strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Proficient with BIM/CAD and analysis software (Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, TRANE TRACE 700, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and online equipment selection tools).
- Knowledge of fire protection specifications, mechanical equipment layout, plumbing system design (water, waste, gas, fixture selection), and HVAC system design (loads, equipment sizing, airside, hydronic, controls).
- Bachelor’s degree in an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
- Engineer‑in‑Training certification preferred.
