The role involves supporting the Treatment Works Team to maximise plant performance, reliability and availability through mechanical maintenance and project work, while ensuring safety and compliance with operational targets.
- Contribute to daily mechanical maintenance operations to maximise plant performance, reliability, and availability.
- Deliver project work involving mechanical installation, equipment alignment, and related tasks.
- Maintain and promote safe working practices, supporting engineering, compliance, and production activities.
- Uphold and continuously improve high standards of mechanical engineering performance for optimal plant effectiveness.
- Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer with maintenance compliance, engineering projects, and equipment specification and procurement.
- Support compliance with IPPC Permit requirements and contribute to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001:2000 environmental and quality management systems.

Who we’re looking for: To be successful in this role you’ll need a City & Guilds or HNC qualification in an engineering or science discipline, or equivalent training and experience, and proven maintenance experience in water, thermal drying or similar process‑based industrial environments.
- Hold a City & Guilds or HNC qualification in engineering or science, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
- Possess proven experience in a maintenance role, ideally within the water industry, thermal drying operations, or other process‑based industrial environments.
- Demonstrate strong competence in maintenance engineering for wastewater treatment, thermal drying technology, or continuous process/manufacturing operations.
- Maintain a strong track record of adhering to safety, environmental, production, and maintenance procedures within an integrated management system.
