Mechanical Engineer

Description

• Identifying required spare parts and planning ahead
• Supporting shift cover and occasional out-of-hours call-outs
• Carrying out daily machine and statutory checks
• Hands-on work with tools, machinery, greases, and oils
• Fault-finding and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment

Requirements

A great opportunity has opened up for an experienced Plant Maintenance Engineer to join a busy maintenance and facilities operation. If you’re hands-on, mechanically or electrically skilled, and enjoy keeping critical equipment running smoothly, this could be a strong fit.

• Comfortable working under pressure and with minimal supervision
• Able to communicate clearly and work with onsite contractors
• Ideally an apprenticeship or relevant qualification (not essential)
• Manual handling and heavy lifting involved
• Working safely in line with all environmental and H&S procedures
• Experience working at heights and with pumps, motors, pipework (PVC), and general industrial kit
• Understanding of gas ovens, chillers, rectifiers, AHUs or AC units is a bonus
• Physically fit for manual tasks and lifting aircraft components
• Mechanical or electrical background
• Confident using tools safely
• Strong experience in plant maintenance
• Calm, practical, and proactive
• Must have the right to work in the UK
