Senior Cultural Resources Specialist
Hdr
HDR provides architecture, engineering, environmental, and construction services for infrastructure projects.
Function as Technical Specialist, Field Supervisor, or Project Manager on small to mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not sole focus of position
Develop recommendations of eligibility and reports that meet the requirements of the appropriate State Historic Preservation Office and our local, state, and federal clients
Take part in all processes with cultural resources projects, including field investigations, meetings, and coordination with Indian Tribes and agencies
Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed
Plan, organize, and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as needed
Take responsibility for assessment, preparation of documents, reports, and findings for cultural resources surveys
Develop and monitor tasks, schedules and cost estimates, and assess applicable requirements and processes for all cultural resource projects
Lead and support Section 106 and EO 21-02 compliance, as well as NEPA and SEPA efforts
Make decisions on significant design and scientific procedures, taking responsibility for survey data compilation, assessment, analysis within cultural contexts, and report writing
Work with cross-sector teams to optimize project delivery and new business development
Oversee and perform fieldwork, including reconnaissance and intensive levels, document cultural resources for a variety of client sectors, including transportation, renewable energy/power, and water

Excellent communication and client interaction skills
15+ years Archaeological experience, 10+ years of experience in planning, managing, reviewing, and/or executing cultural resources investigations
Master’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology
Must be able to handle cultural resources in a variety of geographic settings primarily throughout Washington as well as the greater US
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Successful candidates must be familiar with field study design and documentation, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS utilities
Requires ability to travel
