$1B
Investment Goal
Aim to generate $1 billion in investment by 2025 through affordable housing projects.
Born from Cesar Chavez’s mid‑20th‑century farmworker movement, the foundation evolved into a social enterprise powerhouse.
It operates a national monument and conference center at the founder’s historic ranch in Keene, preserving that legacy.
Its Housing & Economic Development arm builds affordable housing mixed with family and senior services across the Southwest.
The Education Fund runs self‑sustaining pre‑K to 8 programs and aims to develop future leaders through its learning centers.
Chavez Media owns and operates community radio and digital stations across multiple states.
Typical projects include building affordable housing complexes, running bilingual school programs, and Fairfax cultural events.
The organization is active in six states, blending rural roots with urban impact through construction, media, and preservation.
Unusually, it merges nonprofit mission with business operations—radio stations, housing development, historic sites all under one roof.
