WSP is looking for a Senior Vice President, Scheduling Manager to join its Project Controls team in Columbia, MD. The role will lead the scheduling function across design and construction projects, overseeing about 20 schedulers and balancing technical expertise with client engagement and leadership.
The successful candidate will shape scheduling operations for multiple programs, champion best practices, and deliver timely solutions that align with client and organizational goals. They will also collaborate with business development to expand service offerings and drive growth.
- Develop and manage critical‑path method (CPM) schedules using Primavera P6 for transportation, infrastructure, power, energy, environmental, federal, and property projects.
- Serve as the primary scheduling SME for internal project managers and external clients, offering insights and forecasts for decision‑making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ~20 schedulers, implementing best practices, training, and career development plans.
- Partner with business development to market and sell scheduling services to new and existing clients and internal project managers.
- Support proposal development, scope definition, and pricing of scheduling services.
- Ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery of schedules across multiple projects while balancing competing priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing tools, processes, and reporting structures to boost efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Grow the scheduling team by recruiting top talent and building scalable capabilities aligned with business demand.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 15+ years developing, managing, and reviewing project and program schedules.
- 10+ years progressive scheduling experience on large‑scale capital infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience leading scheduling teams and managing delivery across multiple projects.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience selling professional services.
- Ability to build trusted client relationships and present to senior leadership.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and growing high‑performing teams.
- Preferred: PMI‑SP, PSP (AACE), or PMP certification.
- Preferred: Experience with earned value management and cost‑schedule integration.
