Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; and proficiency in the use of BIM software and CTC Revit Add In Tools
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards
Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR Associate’s degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred with 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
Proficiency in Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc. Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
Proficient with energy compliance software such as ComCheck; Adobe or Bluebeam Revu; the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
