- Authorise the permit.
- Review method statements tailored to specific tasks.
- Maintain service markings for the duration of the permit.
- Investigate uncharted services as directed by the Service Coordinator.
- Provide teams with an overview of the services within their designated work boundaries and discuss methods for working around those affected services.
- Take photographs of the work area prior to commencement, if stipulated by the project procedure.
- Attach the most current SMD CAD drawing to the permit-to-dig.
- Ensure that no work gang operates under an expired permit for breaking ground or in an area lacking a permit.
- Inform the Service Coordinator of any services that have been removed from the work area, ensuring the service drawings are updated accordingly.
- Obtain the required signatures for permit approval from the works team and the Project Engineer.
- Enforce any designated exclusion zones surrounding affected services.
- Implement an 8-point checklist during work gang briefings.
- Ensure compliance with and enforcement of the project permit for the Break Ground procedure.
- Notify the Service Coordinator of any discrepancies in the records.
- Mark all services within the work boundaries to protect colour standards.

- Candidates should have a proficient working knowledge of surveying equipment, such as GPR, CAT, and Genny utility detection tools.
- A valid and clean full manual driving license is necessary.
- A solid understanding of industry practices and standards related to utility detection, including PAS 128 and TSA, is important.
- Familiarity with Electromagnetic location and ground penetrating radar is essential.
- The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team and interact with clients on-site is required.
- We are seeking a candidate who can handle multiple tasks, show flexibility, and become a key contributor to our team.
- QCF Level 3 or Level 5 certification in utility mapping is preferred.
- A CSCS Card is required (this must be obtained before commencing work).
- Applicants should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of utility surveying experience.
