Located in San Francisco, the Building Performance Project Consultant role empowers clients to achieve energy‑efficient building solutions and contributes to a greener future. The consultant leads sustainable design processes, provides expertise on projects—including the Precis platform—and consistently advocates for building performance excellence across all engagements.
Successful candidates possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural, or related engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience with building systems. They demonstrate advanced understanding of building systems across at least one specialty such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, controls, or envelope, and they are capable of mentoring, delegating, and communicating effectively with clients and project partners.
Technical proficiency includes mastery of building‑system simulation tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, IES‑VE, TRNSYS, eQuest, TRACE, CFD, Radiance) and experience using CAD/BIM software for performance analysis. Candidates should be familiar with major rating systems, design codes, and standards, and hold industry certifications such as LEED AP, ASHRAE HPDP/BEMP/BEAP, Green Globes Professional, or AEE CEM.
Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineering license in one or more states and proficiency in an application programming language such as C++, Ruby, Python, or Visual Basic. Strong written and verbal communication, excellent organization, time‑management skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks are essential for success.
