SMEs advise Product Management, Engineering, and Design on new initiatives to align with real‑world jobsite workflows, industry standards, and customer needs, and they contribute to business planning and strategic initiatives. They provide structured feedback during alpha and beta testing, participate in early feature validation, and influence roadmap development through field insights, competitive analysis, and industry trends, including testing AI use cases for accuracy and bias mitigation. Additionally, they act as product ambassadors at industry events, support sales with roadmap presentations, facilitate Product Advisory Groups, and capture customer feedback to deliver actionable insights to product teams.
Collaboration with Marketing includes supporting product webinars, thought‑leadership initiatives, and social‑media engagement, as well as reviewing industry‑facing content to ensure technical accuracy and credibility. This cross‑functional partnership helps drive community engagement and reinforces Autodesk’s brand in the construction sector.
In partnership with Autodesk R&D, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) provide deep construction domain expertise and hands‑on product knowledge to support product development, accelerate customer adoption, and validate new capabilities, including AI‑driven innovations. This role ensures the voice of the customer is reflected in the product roadmap and serves as an outward‑facing advocate for the construction ecosystem. The position is open to remote candidates based in the United States.
Candidates must have 10+ years of construction industry experience with a strong focus on preconstruction, deep understanding of VDC processes and standards, and proficiency with project file types such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. Experience supporting both self‑perform and contracted work, strong presentation and communication skills, a results‑driven track record, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are required, with a willingness to travel monthly. International experience in EMEA and APAC is a plus.
