Description

The Field Service Engineer (UK & Ireland) role provides field technical support for Badger Meter’s product portfolio, ensuring issues are resolved to customer satisfaction. This field‑based, home‑based position covers a territory across the UK and Ireland, with occasional overseas travel, and is ideal for candidates based in the South of England.

In this position you will deliver installation, commissioning, and calibration of water quality monitors, gas detection monitors, and flow meters, as well as provide both onsite and remote training. You will analyze measurement data, document support cases, maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer service.

• Provide field technical support and calibration services to customers.
• Install, commission, and upgrade water quality monitors, gas detection monitors, and flow meters.
• Deliver onsite and remote training for customers and internal teams.
• Analyze measurement data and maintain documentation of support cases and projects.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, managing stock and remote technical support.
• Stay current on Badger Meter and competitor technologies, including software.
• Handle repairs, global RMA processes, and assemble custom solutions.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a qualification in Electrical, Electronics, or Engineering and have 1–3 years of experience in field service or technical support of analytical equipment. A clean driving licence, strong customer‑focused communication, problem‑solving abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Hold a qualification in Electrical/Electronics/Engineering.
• Possess 1–3 years of field service experience with analytical equipment.
• Have prior electro‑mechanical field service experience and a clean driving licence.
• Demonstrate strong customer service, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to travel up to five days per week, including occasional overnight stays.
