Attend training and development programs as outlined in the Talent Management process, and as determined from time to time by management (may include sales training, technical training, skills training, etc.)
Interface with Toromont CAT customers exemplifying behaviours that reflect Toromont CAT’s culture and values. Provide trusted advisor services to our customers to ensure that Toromont CAT is their first choice in services.
Follow up on customer requirements and quotes. Develop response to customer needs and prepare quotes, technical submissions, etc. Engage the Management team as required to develop and execute the business
Participate in appropriate industry associations, training sessions, customer events, etc.
Assist with the collection of outstanding customer payments and distribute settlements related to parts and service work performed
Complete administrative portion of the role including but not limited to Saleslink, IRS and other reporting to ensure good record keeping and providing enough information to allow management to make good business decisions.
Respond to customer rental product inquiries in a timely manner to determine the appropriate actions
Review detailed specifications and tenders to determine the right product offerings and submit bids accordingly to ensure all Toromont Financials and risk management objectives are met for all quotes
Utilize planning tools and evaluate customer opportunities, marketplace opportunities and economic trends. Develop as a minimum a business plan and territory plan per year. In addition, as required develop and submit quarterly and/or weekly planning.
Complete call reports following each customer meeting and maintain Sales Link database to ensure customer information and sales activities are up to date
Identify and proactively engage in product sales calls with prospective customers and distribute other leads to the appropriate market segment Account Manager (EPG and Industrial) or Product Support Account Manager (PSAM)
Develop and maintain relationships with cross functional teams, branch support staff and engage them in activities to ensure proper alignment of goals
Participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound, healthy behaviours and objectives at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Programs and best practices
Provide second line technical support for customers by working closely with Project Managers and PSSR
Remain current on market conditions, competitive intelligence and pricing to provide feedback to management, inside sales and Caterpillar

5 years of rental and/or marketplace experience OR has been training through succession planning and talent management to take on an Account Management role.
Willing and able to travel and work flexible hours in support of the business needs
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Application
High aptitude for negotiating, developing business plans/strategies, budgets and implementing service related programs
