The technician will troubleshoot and repair fire and life safety systems, including conventional, addressable, voice, complex smoke control, and networked solutions. They will use a variety of diagnostic tools to analyze systems, ensure maximum detection and alarm coverage, produce NFPA‑compliant repair reports, and program systems via laptop computers. Additional duties include maintaining circuit integrity, managing vehicle inventory and tools, and providing guidance to other technicians.
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician with strong programming, troubleshooting, and repair skills. This key role works closely with the service team and clients to ensure critical life safety systems are efficiently repaired and maintain overall performance. The position demands meticulous attention to detail in system troubleshooting and repair, as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
Candidates must have two to five years of experience in fire‑life safety repair, knowledge of current fire alarm and smoke control systems, and demonstrable expertise in circuit integrity troubleshooting. Required qualifications include NICET I certification, familiarity with NFPA 72, NFPA 70 Article 760, and relevant regulatory requirements, as well as the ability to read system design drawings and safely use trade tools. Strong organizational, decision‑making, and communication skills, physical fitness for lifting up to 50 lb and working at heights, and a valid driver’s license are also essential.
