The HDR Northern California Water Business Group is seeking a Project Delivery Leader to support and develop project teams and clients on critical California water projects. This role joins the NorCal Water Business Group leadership team, overseeing project delivery, developing project‑management skills, tracking financials and assisting with staffing and quality issues.
Key responsibilities include developing project‑management capabilities, organizing and leading the project team, conducting project reviews for schedule, quality, financials and staffing, coordinating technical staff with the Area Market Sector Leader, managing workshare, streamlining area processes, championing cross‑business pursuits, and participating in technical delivery program development. The leader also serves as PIC, project sponsor or client manager for selected projects, creates technical learning paths, mentors staff, coordinates staffing with market and professional services leaders, and supports recruiting.
Additional duties involve planning, directing and monitoring large multidisciplinary projects, managing multiple projects concurrently, establishing client relations and participating in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings, collaborating with business and accounting managers for project reviews, implementing QA/QC procedures, delivering training, supervising and mentoring project managers, and performing other needed tasks.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least ten years of relevant experience, a minimum of five years in project management, proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling and project‑management software, strong interaction skills with design teams, excellent organization and written and verbal communication abilities, and a commitment to actively participating in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
